Each year during November, millions of men all over the world unite to support the global charitable organisation “Movember” with a view to changing the face of men’s health.
For those taking part, the aim is to a grow a moustache throughout November which is used as a conversation starter to raise awareness about men’s health issues such as prostate and testicular cancer in order to raise funds for the charity.
This year, 23 Globaleye employees took up the challenge, and the team, known as Globaleye’s Groomers, managed to raise $5363 for charity and ranked the number 1 Movember team in the UAE.
The team’s progress was photographed each week and shared across Globaleye’ social media channels, with the company’s Facebook followers voting each week for their favourite moustache.
Operations Manager Ben Searle earned himself the dubious title of “Lame Mo” for his committed yet failed ability at growing any facial hair worthy of a Mo title!
Man of Movember Scott, commented: “Despite affecting hundreds of thousands of men across the world, there is still a lack of awareness and understanding of the health issues men face. In our job we are often exposed to the importance of good health and providing the correct Critical Illness cover to protect ourselves in case of the “what if”. So it’s essential that we all step up and do our bit to raise awareness and Movember provides a fun platform to get the message across.”
