After growing up in Bahrain I moved back to the Middle East in 2001 and worked in sales for a number of years, selling cars to the US Military in Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan as well as few other not so pleasant places.
In 2010 I came to the conclusion that working in war zones was not the best long term career so decided, after talking to a very good friend in the industry, to retrain as a Financial Adviser. I started my financial career working for a small independent broker in Kuwait, during my time there I learned a lot about the offshore industry and very quickly became the top writer in the company.
I decided in 2014 that after 30+ years on and off in the Middle East it was time for a change of scenery. Just over 3 years ago I moved with my family to Malaysia to work for a broker in KL. Within 18 months I was promoted to Sales Manager and was responsible for managing a small team of advisers and BDMs. As I was working for a small broker it became clear that, although I enjoyed my time there, my career could not progress much further and it was time to move to a larger global firm.
Have a number of qualifications and am currently working to complete my Cii Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
Outside of work I like to spend time with family and friends and am an active member of the KL Tigers Rugby Club, who are sponsored by Globaleye. Although I keep threatening to retire from playing 1st XV matches as I’m getting too old and broken I haven’t managed to give up yet!
